ATTENTION CLAN: DPFN NEEDS YOU!!!
Due to site upgrades and regular maintenance costs, we're looking to raise money for the site and future contests/prizes. Rather than trying to hit everyone up for donations purely out of the goodness of your hearts ( ), we're providing INCENTIVES!!!
That's right, beginning August 1st through September 1st, whenever you donate 5 dollars, you'll receive one entry into a raffle for some amazing prizes. The more tickets you purchase the chances of you winning a prize increase, the more perks you receive, and the better the prizes become! Here's an outline of how it works…

Mindblowing and Massive, suffice to say. 
So get to it Clan, we need your help! To donate, all you need to do is go to our Subscription section and either buy a Premium subscription (all drastically lowered in price), and/or buy raffle ticket(s). If you prefer to donate via Paypal, please send any amount to dpfn41@gmail.com. Support the site, and let the tickets, perks, and prizes roll in!!!  All donations and raffle ticket purchases will be tracked and accounted for. Later down the road we will gather up all raffle ticket purchases. The more raffle tickets you have, the higher chance you will be picked for the prize. The more money we can raise, the more prizes we can buy, not to mention the ultimate super-cool prize for one lucky member. The main goal is to have at least enough money to buy (at minimum) a couple prizes that multiple members will be able to receive.
FAQ:
Q: If I'm already a Premium member, is it alright if I upgrade to a year subscription or a lifetime subscription?
A: Yes!
Q: What will this money be used for?
A: Site upgrades/enhancements/requirements and current/future contests & prizes. None will be used for my personal benefit! A lot has been put into the site to make it what it is, and more is still to come - but money is needed! As you all know the prizes are great too, and one I'd really like to get for you all will only be possible if we get enough donations from you guys. Think of it as a collaboration for a greater good!
Q: If I don't wish to buy raffle tickets, and would like to donate more than $20, what do I do?
A: Go to paypal.com first, then click "Send Money", then enter the e-mail "dpfn41@gmail.com" and send any amount you'd like. Feel free to send me a confirmation e-mail, at dpfn41@gmail.com.
Q: Is there a limit on how many raffle tickets I can buy?
A: Nope. If you want 20 tickets for example, just use the "20 Dollars - 5 Raffle Tickets" 4 times.
Q: So only people who buy a raffle ticket are entered in for the prizes?
A: Yes, you've got to at least buy one to be eligible to win something. I'll have a complete listing of everyone who has bought a raffle ticket. Depending on how many you buy, that will determine how many times your name will be put in for the random drawing. The more money we can raise = the more people that will be able to win something.

Improvements Galore
Let's get right into it! There are some really cool new features and aspects of the site that I'd like to tell you all about. Below I will list these changes and give brief explanations of each. If you require additional assistance with any of these features or anything else relating to the site, please do not hesitate to ask.
Link Sharing
You will be able to quickly share any topic to Twitter, Facebook, as well as print and even download the topic, and more! This is a great way to easily share information.
Status Updates
Almost like Twitter in a sense. They are meant for telling others what you are doing, what you plan on doing, or even why you're doing something. If you do not have anything worthy to share, just spout out something random! Your status is basically just that, your current situation. I have seen many times that Status Updates have been being used almost like a chatbox. Though it may seem like a fine idea, profile comments are much better suited for one to one conversations. Alternatively, if you would like to chat with multiple people, our Chat Box will serve that purpose perfectly. Status Updates are also able to be commented on, so be sure to respond to a member's status with a comment - not a separate status update! Status Updates are upfront and center in your profile, and recent comments you have made to others' status will be listed as well.
Good example of status useage:
PerFectioN: Going to eat dinner, be back soon!
--Fire: Alright man, c ya when you get back.
Not so good usage:
PerFectoN: Hey Gonzo how's life man?
--Gonzo: Good man, thanks. Why is that your status though?
See the difference? In the first example I'm addressing pretty much everyone - anyone could freely comment on that no problem. In the second example I'm asking someone specific a question, which would be much better suited for a profile comment or a private message.
Topic Preview
Preview the first few lines of a topic without loading the entire topic. I know this is great for me because when I'm in a rush, I still want to check the forums, but I don't want to get into reading a long topic if I'm not going to be able to finish. With previewing the topic I can get a good insight into what it's going to be about without even loading it up.
View Reputation
You will now be able to view the awesome members who were nice enough to add to your rep status! All you need to do is click the green tab to view the members, and then you can be sure to think 'em later!
Profile Customization
Ever wanted to give a unique look to your profile? Now you can. Simply go into your profile settings, upload an image of your choice - large or small - and have it as a background in your profile!
Notification System
This is a system that notifies you of various events around the board, completely customizable by you. As you can see, I am notified and signaled via icon type of what is happening.
Chat Count and Private Chats
With our great Chat Box you will be able to even private message each other, and have a sense of how many are in the chat with the chat count. Just click on the member's name if you wish to engage yourself in gossipy private conversation goodness.
Your Content vs. View New Content
You all know what View New Content does: A very useful tool that shows you everything that has happened recently. What about My Content? When you click on your name a list of options emerges: scroll down, and click "My Content" - this will show you (almost) everything you have created/replied to. There used to be a separate link for viewing your topics and viewing your posts, but now you can see them easily all in one place. Like view new content, it will also show you what has been replied to. This is especially useful if you want to check up on multiple topics you have created. You'll be able to change whether you wish to view new content for topics you have created or topics in which you have replied to, or both. Please note that "My Content" only shows content you have been involved with; if you haven't replied to topic X for example, topic X will not appear.
Scandalous
The pictures that have been getting into our Gallery are certainly worthy of spending time with. The Gallery system is working and ready for your pictures and videos of Halo and other craziness. You are able to even 'favorite' images you find and set them as your avatar, and of course share them with the world. Comments on images actually go toward your post count, for those of you who are into that sort of thing.  Notes in images are also possible, just click and drag where you want the comment to be, and then when someone hovers over that area they will see your message.
 
There's three main sections right now: Members Gallery, Halo, and Other. As you can imagine, the Members Gallery is for you all. I've started the category off with a few pictures of little ol' me. The Halo Gallery is for anything Halo related, just like our "Halo" section in the forums. There is also a sub-category for just random pictures of the Halos if you do not wish to make an album of your own for them. The "Other Games" category is simply for anything else besides Halo that relates to gaming of some fashion.
Less QQ
Brand new to the site is our Arcade. With over 100 games the Arcade system really does provide a good combination of strategy and fun. From Call of Duty to Deal or no Deal, these flash games are a really great use of spare time. Games can be added to a list of favorites, commented on, and voted upon. High scores will be listed with each and recent activity will show what others are playing and how they are doing.
The Arcade is still quite new and various issues are still being worked out. If you do encounter any problems, be sure to let us know.
The New New
The glorious new custom skin is absolutely what I wanted it to be, and I'm hoping you all enjoy it too. I wanted to give DPFN something extra special and I think this new look will just be great for the future. All other skins will still be available; for those of you who prefer Master Chief, Dark DeFlectioN isn't going anywhere. Currently the skins that still need upgrading are Dark PerFectioN Black, Game Over, Blood, Silver, and Pure. Please note that until these skins get the upgrades they so desperately need, they will not work correctly and I recommend not using them. The text also changes randomly each time you load the page, and it is ultimately up to you all what you see in that area. Check out the idea topic, post some ideas, and wait...
Almost 30,000
The 2010 100,000 post contest is still happening of course, and we are getting closer and closer with each day. Now more than ever I would ask that you all stay active and post at least a few times a day, even to just comment on some pictures! It really is a great milestone this year for Dark PerFectioN, and I intend to have a lot of fun with the new and upcoming games and of course Halo: Reach. Let's knock out this forum goal too. Remember: Quality over quantity! I see too many posts with less than 5 letters in it, and I know you've got more to say than that. I know you all have more to say than just "lol," so please, consider the readers when you post and give them something interesting. Better forum content equals out to a better forum and better reading experience.
On The Real
In all seriousness, I just want to tell you all how much you mean to me and how little Dark PerFectioN would be without you. Without you all DPFN would be nothing more than me twiddling my thumbs, but fortunately you all have made this one of the best clans I have ever experienced (I'm totally not biased). October 14'th 2007 was the start of something beautiful, and this clan seriously could not have gotten to where it's at today without a strong and helpful and passionate community. Give yourself two pats on the back, please.
You may or may not be wondering how much all of this cost. Though you may not be able to help right away, I would just like to let you all know that it did cost me quite a bit of cash to make all of this happen and I would be extremely appreciative if you wouldn't mind buying a Premium membership or simply donating to dpfn41@gmail.com via Paypal. I normally do not like asking for money and try to do the majority of contests and prizes and fun upgrades like this with my own money, but I think this is an appropriate time to remind you all that it's there. I certainly do not like advertisements or anything else that would ruin the experience here, so I rely on you.
 For the new guys that might have just joined, or for those of you who just don't know too much about Dark PerFectioN: DPFN is a clan centered around friendly and mature discussion and gaming. We love all sorts of games, notably Halo. Since day one I have striven to deliver a great forum experience for the members; hopefully with this upgrade you all agree with me that it is really freaking sweet. As with any change, I'm always open to ideas and constructive criticism if there's something you see that could use improvement.
